Israeli Prime Minister has not given his stand on the US-France prepared proposal to take a 21-day ceasefire amidst the conflict.
The United States and several of its allies are urging
cessation along the Israel-Lebanon border in the hopes of avoiding a greater
conflagration in the region. The call for ceasefire is made at a time when there are increasing signs of escalation with the view of preventing any worsening and providing space for diplomacy to prevail. As rightly said by the chief of the Israeli army, these are the goals of any ground operation in Lebanon and that is to ensure that the displaced Israelis in northern region could regain their homes safely.
This comes at a time when fighting and small attacks expel the inhabitants from their homes and areas in the region. At the same time, Hezbollah has been escalating its reaction to the Israeli aggression. But even as it raises the ante, the group is still not going full throttle when it comes to its military advancement.
There is no calm after that with both parties preparing for what could happen. More vitally, Israel’s defense system targeted a ballistic missile launched by Hezbollah near Tel Aviv in which the former have achieved to down the latter missile for the first time in this struggling war.
