Maggie Smith beloved star of Harry Potter and Downton Abbey, two time Oscar winner has passed on aged 89, leaving the world with cherished memories of great performances and a memorable career that has left an indelible mark on the hearts of people all over the world.

 Actress Dame Maggie Smith died a calm death during the wee hours of September 27, 2024, her sons, Toby Stephens and Chris Larkin said. The awarded actress with more than fifty films to her credit, won her two Oscars for The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie and California Suite, as well as four Golden Globe Awards and several Emmys for her role in Downton Abbey.
Pamela Smith also known as Pamela Franklin was born in 1934 in Ilford England, began on stage in 1952 and rose to stardom with roles like Professor Minerva McGonagall in the Harry Potter series. She received Damehood from Queen Elizabeth II in 1990 in acknowledgment of her contribution to art. Although, Smith loved her celebrity status, she also valued her privacy and once testified on how it felt to be assasinated in public places.
Her last film role was in The Miracle Club to be released in the year 2023. She is survived by two son and five grandchildren. In their statement her family expressed gratitude to staff of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and also asked everyone to leave them alone during this terrible period.
